Before becoming a lawyer, Travis worked as a mechanical engineer for one of the most respected engineering consulting firms in Houston.  He passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination and is certified as an Engineer in Training by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.

During his second and third years at Baylor Law School, Travis advised clients on patent, trademark, and copyright matters as a member of the Baylor Law IP Clinic, a pro bono legal aid service.  He was also the president of Baylor Law’s chapter of the Christian Legal Society.

After graduating and passing the Texas Bar Examination, Travis passed a second bar examination commonly called the “Patent Bar Exam” and became registered by the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Attorney.  Travis then joined a law firm and began practicing in estate planning, probate, intellectual property, business, and real estate law.
